Software Developer (Full stack) for Bitoftrust

Bit of trust is a company founded in 2018 on the initiative of internationally recognised experts in the field of recognition, development  and valorisation of talents.The mission of Bit of trust is to design, develop and support the implementation of technologies and services contributing to the construction of a Web of Trust at the service of an open society. Its main areas of intervention are education, employment, human resources, territorial development and social integration.

For the development of an Open Badges compatible service & application, we are looking to hire a fullstack developer motivated to combine a broad interest in computer science and technologies like Linked Data with experience & skills on both back-end development (80%) as front-end implementation and UI (html, css, js) (20%).

What you would do for us

To satisfy the requirements of an Open Badges solution that is more in line with the vision of Open Recognition you would be co-designing the infrastructure needed, develop both the backend as frontend parts that will allow users to issue, store, verify and discover badges and offer visitors a variety of visualisations. 

What we would like you to have

  • An open and innovative mindsetAcademic thinking and working level
  • Minimum bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent (work or related field of study)
  • Familiarity with data modeling and experience on NoSQL / Graph databases 
  • Knowledgeable on HTTP, REST and JSON / JSON-LD
  • Hands on experience in setting up backend services (Node.js, Java, Clojure, Python)
  • Front-end UI skills (html, css, js), experience with Vue as framework is a plus
  • Experience in working with Git 
  • A wide range of programming language knowledge would be considered a big plus in helping co-design the infrastructure
  • Understanding of new technologies such as SOLID, Keri, Verifiable Credentials & the DID specifications
  • A good working knowledge of English
  • Remote availability during working hours in Europe (CET timezone)
